I remember before we set off on Lands End ->; John O'Groats last year asking the organisers what the attrition rate was i.e. how many people didn't make it to the end through either injury, illness, accident etc. About 10% was the answer. In particular they recalled one poor guy who on their previous tour (just a few weeks before ours) had unfortunately fallen off on a bend and ended up being airlifted to hospital with a broker collar bone.
Sat next to said poor guy at dinner last night, he's part of our group.
Freaky eh?
